Volunteers

Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the 2nd Annual Purdue Boilermaker Half Marathon and 5K.  It will take many volunteers to put on a fun, safe and successful event.  Please browse through the volunteer opportunities below.  Once you have made your choice, please complete and submit the Volunteer Form.

Friday Volunteer Opportunities

• Expo Packet Pick-Up
  Friday, October 18th, Shift 1– 11:00am - 4:00pm, Four Points by Sheraton
  Friday, October 18th, Shift 2– 3:30pm - 8:30pm, Four Points by Sheraton
  Expo/Packet Pick-Up volunteers will pass out participant’s bibs, shirts, etc. as well as other duties as assigned.
  Volunteers Needed:  50 (25 each shift)
  
  
• Friday Set-Up Crew
  Friday, October 18th, 5:00pm - 8:00pm, Ross-Ade Stadium 
  Volunteers will assist in the set-up of the course, start area and finish area. 
  Some Lifting may be required.
  Volunteers Needed:  5
  
  

Saturday Volunteer Opportunities

• Saturday Set-Up Crew
  Saturday, October 19th, 5:00am - 8:00am, Ross-Ade Stadium
  Volunteers will assist in the set-up of the course, start area and finish area. 
  Some Lifting may be required.
  Volunteers Needed:   5
  
  
• Volunteer Headquarters
  Saturday, October 19th, 5:00am - 12:00pm, Ross-Ade Stadium
  Volunteers will assist in the assignment and organization of all event volunteers as well as serve as a question and answer location for spectators, volunteers and participants.  Volunteer refreshments will also be served from this location.
  Volunteers Needed:  3
  
  
• Race Day Packet Pick-Up
  Saturday, October 19th, 5:30am - 8:30am, Ross-Ade Stadium
  Packet Pick-Up volunteers will pass out participant’s bibs, shirts, etc. as well as other light duties as assigned.
  Volunteers Needed:  25
  
  
• Gear Check
  Saturday, October 19th, 5:30am - 12:00pm, Ross-Ade Stadium
  Volunteers will organize and monitor participants gear throughout the duration of the race and assist them in picking up their materials once finished.

• Start Line
  Saturday, October 19th, 6:30am - 8:30am, Ross-Ade Stadium
  Help with light set up of the start line and organization of participants into their starting positions.
  Volunteers Needed:  10
  
  
• Finish Line
  Saturday, October 19th, 6:30am - 11:30am, Ross-Ade Stadium
  Finish line volunteers can help in many different areas including, timing tag removal, refreshment distribution, medal distribution, and finish line assisting.
  Volunteers Needed: 40 
  
  
• Water Stations
  Saturday, October 19th, 6:30am-12:30pm, Location Varies
  Volunteers will be stationed at one of many water stations along the course, handing out refreshments to participants as they pass by.
  Volunteers Needed:  100
  
  
• Course Management
  Saturday, October 19th, 6:30am-12:30pm, Location Varies
  Volunteers will be placed along the course to monitor and provide directional assistance to participants. 
  Volunteers Needed:  150
  
  
• Tear Down Crew
  Saturday, October 19th, Time – 11:00am - 2:00pm, Ross-Ade Stadium
  Volunteers will assist in the tear down of equipment and trash removal.
  Some lifting may be required.
